Etymologie
Großnasig, bezieht sich auf seine Schnauze, die abrupt zwischen den Augen zusammengedrückt ist, mit einer großen Grube zwischen den Nasenlöchern. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Becken des Brahmaputra River, Indien und Nepal.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 23.01.2018: LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Die Bedrohungen für diese Art sind nicht bekannt, jedoch sind Gefährdungen in den Gebirgsströmen ein generelles Problem.
