Holotypus: ZVC-P 4362.
Typusfundort: Uruguay, Bezirk Treinta y Tres, temporärer Tümpel 300 m östlich der Ruta 18, 1 km nördlich von Vergara, etwa 32°55'S, 53°54'W.
Etymologie
Der Artname wird zu Ehren von Juan Reichert vergeben, einem Aquarianer, der sich in seinen letzten Lebensjahren sehr intensiv der Erforschung der Süßwassergewässer Uruguays widmete, mehrere Fundorte von Fischen der Gattung Cynolebias (jetzt Austrolebias) entdeckte und zwei Arten aus dieser Gattung beschrieb (A. vazferreirai und A. nioni).
