Etymologie
Doie (= Zweifel oder Ungewissheit), in Anspielung auf die unsichere Verwandtschaft (Weber schlug damals eine eigene Familie für die Typusart vor, Doiichthyidae); ichthys (= Fisch). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
