Von cyno (= Hund) und odon (= Zahn), bezogen auf einen großen "hundeartigen" Zahn auf jeder Seite des Oberkiefers von Cynodonichthys tenuis; ichthys (= Fisch). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
