Paratypen: AMS I.38461-001; BPBM 42362; NSMT P.65934, P.70552; USNM 438445.
Typusfundort: Thailand, Andamanen See, Provinz Trang, Insel Libong.
Etymologie
Vom lateinischen altus (= hoch) und pinna (= Flosse).
Verbreitung
Indischer Ozean: Tansania, Sri Lanka und der Andamanensee vor Thailand. Shibukawa (2005) berichtete diese Art aus Seegraswiesen mit sandigen Schlammböden.
