Etymologie
Coecil-, Etymologie nicht erklärt und Bedeutung unbekannt, vielleicht eine abweichende Schreibweise von Caecilian, der schlangenähnlichen Amphibie, deren Typusart C. comphor (= O. apicalis) oberflächlich ähnelt; ophis (= Schlange), herkömmliche Bezeichnung für Gattungsnamen von Schlangenaalen, was sich auf das schlangenähnliche Aussehen bezieht.
