Typusfundort: Bäche zwischen Kabel und Lombé, Surinam.
Etymologie
Punctatus (= punktiert, gefleckt), bezogen auf dicht gestreute, dunkelgraue Punkte und Sprenkel auf einem blassen (unpigmentierten) Körper.
Verbreitung
Atlantische Küstenflüsse oberhalb der Amazonas-Mündung, Surinam.
