Typusfundort: Muscat, Oman, Golf von Oman, Arabisches Meer, northwestlicher Indischer Ozean, 15-30 Faden Tiefe.
Etymologie
Die Art Art wurde von F. W. Townsend gesammelt und wurde von Regan (1905) nach Frau Margaret Smith benannt, die "großes Interesse an [Mr. Townsends] sammeln hat".
Verbreitung
Somalia, Oman, Persischer Golf, Pakistan, Indien (Malabar-Küste, Bucht von Bengalen), Thailand (Andamanensee). Weiche Böden, 22-107 m Tiefe.
