Typusfundort: Amazonas, Brasilien: schwimmende Wiese entlang eines Sees im Paraná do Paracuúba, in der Nähe der Mündung des Rio Negro und Eingang zum Lago Janauari, ca. 15 km südlich von Manaus, 03°12.6'S, 59°59.40'W (Karte).
