Status: Stand 9.11.2019:EN Endangered (stark gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Die großflächige Umwandlung von Torfsumpfwäldern in industriell genutzte Forst- und Monokulturplantagen stellt eine Bedrohung für diese Art dar (Giam et al., 2012). Ob es darüber hinaus zu Überfischungen für den Zierfischhandel kommt, ist fraglich, wäre aber eine zusätzliche Bedrohung.
