Typusfundort: Uruguay, Paysandú, Überschwemmungsgebiete des Río Queguay Grande, Estancia La Beba, 32°11’08”S, 57°26’08”W (Karte).

Etymologie

Benannt nach der Typuslokalität, dem Becken des Río Queguay.

Verbreitung

Austrolebias queguay ist endemisch für die Feuchtgebiete des mittleren Queguay-Flussgebiets (30 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel) im Departement Paysandú in Uruguay, das zum unteren Uruguay-Fluss fließt.
