Typusfundort: etwa 6 km nördlich vom Río Misoa und 20 km südlich von Lagunillas, Maracaibo-Becken, Venezuela.
Etymologie
Der Artname stagnalis bezieht sich auf das Vorkommen in stehenden, stagnant, Gewässern.
