Etymologie
Glarea (= Kies); barbatus (= bärtig), bezieht sich auf die glatte, leicht unregelmäßige, kiesel- oder steinartige Anordnung der Haut an der endständige Ausdehnung der mentalen Barbtel. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Südlicher Ozean: Rossmeer.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 25.06.2023:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Es ist unwahrscheinlich, dass Artedidraco glareobarbatus durch größere Bedrohungsprozesse beeinträchtigt wird. Es gibt keine gezielte Fischerei auf diese Art.
