Benannt zu Ehren von Franklyn F. Bond (1897-1946), Universität von Rochester (Rochester, New York, USA), der bei der Erforschung von Mückenbekämpfungsfischen in Venezuela das Typusmaterial sammelte. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
