Typen
Holotypus: MCP 29641.
Typusfundort: Brasilien, Bundesstaat Rio Grande do Sul, temporärer Tümpel in der Nähe des rio da Várzea, Fazenda dos Branda, Carazinho, Río Uruguay-Becken, etwa 28º18'S, 52º48'W.
Etymologie
Diese Art ist nach dem Flusssystem benannt, in dem es aufgesammelt wurde, dem rio da Várzea.
Verbreitung
Nur aus dem rio da Várzea-System bekannt, oberes Río Uruguay-Becken, Südbrasilien.
