Etymologie
Benannt nach dem Akronym, das für die Reihe von Erkundungskreuzfahrten in den Gewässern von Vanuatu verwendet wurde, bei denen der Holotypus gesammelt wurde.

Westpazifik: Vanuatu und Molukken, Indonesien.
