Anthropogene Veränderungen der Flussmorphologie wirken sich, indem sie den Wasserfluss reduzieren oder unterbrechen, ebenso auf sie aus. Abholzung, Entwaldung und Landwirtschaft finden im gesamten Verbreitungsgebiet statt, entsprechend sind Auswirkungen auf die aquatische Umwelt zu erwarten.
