Typusfundort: Chennai, Bundesstaat Tamil Nadu, Bucht von Bengalen, Indien, 13°04′51"N, 80°17′58"E (Karte), ca. 16,5–22,0 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Der spezifische Name cultella leitet sich vom lateinischen Wort für "Machete" ab, wobei der lange Oberkiefer der Art an eine solche erinnert.
Verbreitung
Zur Zeit nur aus der Bucht von Bengalen, Ostküste Indiens, bekannt.
