Etymologie
Benannt nach der Typuslokalität, dem Becken des Tambraparni Rivers.

Status: Stand 19.12.2021:EN Endangered (stark gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Die größten Bedrohungen sind der Verlust von Lebensräumen durch die Beseitigung der Uferbedeckung, der Sandabbau und die industrielle und organische Verschmutzung. Auch die Sammlung für den Aquarienfischhandel ist eine potenzielle Bedrohung für die Zukunft.
