Typusfundort: Kapuas River, Borneo, Indonesien.
Etymologie
Von anchi- ( nahe) oder anchistos (= am nächsten), wobei, wie Vaillant erklärte, eine enge Ähnlichkeit zwischen dieser Art und drei anderen vermutet wurde, die zu dieser Zeit eng verwandt waren: Barbodes lateristriga, Desmopuntius pentazona und Puntigrus tetrazona); die Bedeutung von porus (= Pore oder Loch?) oder sporus (Samen oder Aussaat?) ist nicht ersichtlich. Verbreitung
Nur aus Borneo bekannt (Kapuas, Mahakam, Bulungan).
