Etymologie
Pseudo (= falsch); Obwohl diese Gattung Hemiodon (jetzt Reganella) ähneln kann, wobei die Typusart Pseudohemiodon platycephalus zuvor (aber vorläufig) in diese Gattung platziert wurde, ist ein solches Erscheinungsbild falsch. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
