Etymologie

Von para- (= nahe), verweist auf die Ähnlichkeit von P. innesi zu Cheirodon (inzwischen Paracheirodon) axelrodi, durch eine “remarkable evolutive convergency or, more probably, by real phylogenetic affinity”. (Aus: ETYFish project)
