Etymologie

Odontos (= Zahn), Anspielung nicht erklärt, bezieht sich vielleicht auf die äußere Zahnreihe, die etwas vergrößert ist im Vergleich zu Butis (Butidae), dessen mutmaßlicher Verwandter zu dieser Zeit. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
