Typusfundort: Saisonale Tümpel im Überschwemmungsgebiet des kleinen saisonalen Chimbembe-Flusses, etwa 5 km südwestlich vom Zufluss von Luongo nach Luapula, in der Nähe des Dorfes Mweshi, Provinz Luapula, Sambia, 10°43.51'S, 28°38.22'E (Karte).

Etymologie

Benannt zu Ehren von Ian Sainthouse, "renommierter Züchter und Sammler von Killifischen, für sein besonderes langjähriges Engagement an Forschungen zur Gattung Nothobranchius". (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Verbreitung

Sambia: Chimbembe River, nahe dem Zusammenfluss Luongo-Luapula in Nordsambia.
