Etymologie

Nemato- (= Faden), bezieht sich auf den verlängerten, fadenförmigen ersten Rückenflossenstachel von Nemateleotris magnifica; Eleotris, damals in die Familie Eleotridae gestellt gewesen. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
