Etymologie
Von mikro- (= klein), bezogen auf die Größe der Typusart ( <16 mm SL); myzon (= Saug(er/napf), hier verwendet, weil es die Nachsilbe des Namens Hoplomyzon, der Typus-Gattung des Tribus Hoplomyzontini ist. (Übersetzt aus The ETYFish Project)
