Etymologie

Von micro- (= klein), bezogen auf die Größe von Microcambeva barbata (bis zu 2,6 cm SL); cambeva (= ein Tupí-Guaraní-Wort, das abgeflachten Kopf bedeutet), bezieht sich auf den dorsal abgeflachten Kopf. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
