Etymologie

Opisthen (= hinten); gnathus (= Kiefer), bezieht sich auf sehr große Oberkiefer, die in einer langen, flexiblen Lamelle nach hinten verlängert sind und etwa bis zum Ansatz der Brustflosse reichen. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
