Typen
Holotypus: AMS I.1731 (ausgestopft und bemalt).
Typusfundort: Watson's Bay, am Eingang zum Hafen von Sydney, New South Wales, Australien.
Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von Prinz Albert, Herzog von Edinburgh (1844-1900), der Sydney besuchte, als dieser "königliche Fisch" gefangen wurde und mit ihm fotografiert wurde. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Ostatlantik; Rotes Meer, Indo-West Pacifik: Ost- und Südafrika und Madagaskar im Osten bis zu den Hawaii-Inseln und zum Tuamotu-Archipel, nördlich bis zu den Ryukyu-Inseln, im Süden bis nach Nordaustralien.
