Holotypus: MHNLS 18934.
Typusfundort: Venezuela, Bundesstaat Bolívar, Orinoco-Becken, río Caroní-System, kleiner Bach, ein Nebenfluss, auf der rechten Seite des río Ichún, stromabwärts von Ichún oder Espuma Falls, ungefähr 04°46'04"N, 63°27'57"W.
Etymologie
Diese Art wurde zu Ehren des indigenen Stammes der Sapé benannt, die die Gegend des oberen Paragua-Flusssystems bewohnen, wo die Fische wurde gesammelt.
Verbreitung
Oberes Paragua-Flusssystem, Caroní-Einzugsgebiet, Venezuela.
