Typusfundort: Ten Thousand Islands, 25.6°N, 81.25°W (Karte), vor den Everglades, südwestliches Florida, USA.
Etymologie
Benannt nach der Typuslokalität: Florida.
Verbreitung
West-Atlantik: Östlicher Golf von Mexiko, südliches Florida, USA.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 8.10.2018:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Größere Bedrohungen sind nicht bekannt. Sie ist potenziell ein Beutetier des invasiven Rotfeuerfisches, jedoch werden nur Jungtiere gefressen und es ist nicht wahrscheinlich, dass dies zu signifikanten Populationsrückgängen im gesamten Verbreitungsgebiet führen wird.
