Etymologie
Lethos (= vergessen); nema (= Faden), bezogen auf das Fehlen einer Unterkieferbartel. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Japan und Taiwan: Bekannt aus dem Pazifik vor Japan, im Norden bis zur Oshika-Halbinsel (38.32°N), dem Okinawa-Trog, Nordtaiwan, den Izu-Inseln und dem Kyushu-Palau-Kamm in Tiefen von 116–1000 m. Diese Art ist am oberen Kontinentalabhang entlang der Pazifikküste Japans gut vertreten und gehört zu den zahlenmäßig dominierenden Grenadieren in der Tosa Bay, Kumano-nada und vor der Boso-Halbinsel.
