Verbreitung
Nordwestlicher Pazifik: Zentral-China bis Nord-Japan.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 21.03.2019:NT Near Threatened (potenziell gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Hemitrygon akajei wird in kommerziellen Mengen in Küstengewässern und sogar im Brackwasser gefangen. Die Art wird als Beifang in der Grundschleppnetzfischerei, in Kiemennetzen, in Stellnetzen sowie in der Haken- und Schnurfischerei auf Grundfischfische wie Flunder gefangen (dieser Beifang wird zurück gesetzt). Die Landungen sollen rückläufig sein. Die Population ist daher stark vom derzeitigen Fischereiaufkommen betroffen.
