Typusfundort: Bergbach in der Nähe von Tolloi, 25°12'N, 94°20'E [ (Karte)], Chindwin Becken, Manipur, Indien, Höhe ca. 2016 Meter.
Etymologie
Länglich, bezogen auf eine größere Standardlänge in Relation zur Körperhöhe im Vergleich zu anderen Mitgliedern des Garra gotyla-Komplexes. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Becken des Chindwin Flusses, Manipur, Indien.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 23.01.2018: NT Near Threatened (potenziell gefährdet)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Die größte Bedrohung für diesen Fisch ist die Zerstörung von Lebensräumen und das wahllose Töten von Fischen mit Dynamit und Chemikalien (Kossygin und Vishwanath 2003).
