Etymologie
Von aethes (= ungewöhnlich oder seltsam); lepis (= Schuppe), bezieht sich auf Schuppen mit langem, spatulärem Auswuchs am Ende, die entlang der dorsalen Mittellinie vor der zweiten Rückenflosse liegen. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
