Etymologie

Benannt zu Ehren von David Starr Jordan (1851-1931) für seine „produktiven Studien zur japanischen Fischfauna“. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Verbreitung

Pazifik vor Südjapan, nach Norden bis nach Hitachi (36.60°N; Präfektur Ibaraki), Kagoshima Bay und Okinawa-Trog in Tiefen von 110–550 m bekannt. Häufig, besonders in der Kagoshima Bay.
