Etymologie
Kombiniert aus ruber (= rot) und rostrum (= Schnauze), bezogen auf die Farbe der rostralen Tuberkel und der Schnauze; bezieht sich auch auf Namen in der Sprache Karen (ein thailändischer Dialekt), niya gwoh nadee, "rotnasiger Fisch". (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
