Typusfundort: Wayag Lagune, Raja Ampat Islands, Provinz West Papua, Indonesien, 00°00.058'N, 130°01.149'E (Karte), 4-12 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Die Art wird zu Ehren von Ellen Gritz aus Houston, Texas, USA, benannt, in Anerkennung ihrer geschätzten Freundschaft zu den Autoren, ihrer illustren Karriere in der Krebsvorsorgeforschung und großzügigen Unterstützung der ostindischen Rifffischuntersuchungen.
Verbreitung
Westpazifik: Die Art wird nur um die Raja Ampat Inseln von Westpapua, Indonesien gefunden. Sie ist häufig in den geschützten Gewässern um die Hauptinseln und auch in der Lagune am Ayau Atoll, etwa 45 km nordöstlich des Archipels.
