Holotypus: BSKU 7593.
Typusfundort: Mimase, Präfektur Kochi, Japan.
Etymologie
Der Name albofasciata stammt vom lateinischen albo für "weiß" und fasciatus bedeutet "umhüllt mit Bändern", bezogen auf den markanten weißen Streifen auf der Seite, als Teil in der Färbung der Anfangs-Phase dieser Art.
Verbreitung
Kommt am westlichen Rand des Pazifiks vor, von Inami, an der südöstlichen Küste der Insel Honshu in Japan, bis nach Shark Bay, Westaustralien, in Tiefen von mindestens 95-120 m.
