Etymologie
.
Verbreitung
Kolumbien, Costa Rica, Panama und Venezuela. Die westlichsten Aufzeichnungen stammen aus dem Rio Sixaola Einzug, einer atlantischen Entwässerung von Costa Rica. Bekannt aus mehreren atlantischen und pazifischen Entwässerungen in ganz Panama, aber es bestehen Lücken in den Sammlungsaufzeichnungen. Weitverbreitet durch die Pazifikküste Kolumbiens, einschließlich der Rios Atrato (Atlantik Entwässerung), San Juan, Baudo, San Cipriano und Anchicayá (Pazifik Entwässerungen). Es gibt isolierte Aufzeichnungen aus dem Rio Sinú (Atlantik-Entwässerung) und unteren und mittleren Río Magdalena (Atlantik-Entwässerung). Verbreitet im Tiefland-Einzugsgebiet rund um den Lago de Maracaibo.
