Etymologie

Di- (= zwei); nema (= Faden), bezieht sich auf ein Paar sehr dünner, kurzer Barteln, die weit hinten am Kinn sitzen. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Verbreitung

Malaiische Halbinsel, Sumatra und Borneo. Berichte aus dem Mekong-Becken sind Verwechslungen mit Belodontichthys truncatus.
