Typusfundort: Mossambik.

Etymologie

Paludinosus (= sumpfig oder morastig), was vermutlich auf die Vorliebe für gut bewachsene sumpf- und riedartige Gewässer verweist. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Verbreitung

Afrika: Das Verbreitungsgebiet erstreckt sich von Äthiopien im Norden durch Ost- und Zentralafrika und westwärts bis nach Angola und erreicht die südlichsten Grenzen seiner Verbreitung in Natal. Im Kongo-Becken bekannt aus dem Mwerusee, Luapula, oberen Lualaba, Lufira und oberen Lulua.
