Typusfundort: Vor Carnarvon (Nähe der Mündung der Shark Bay), Westaustralien.
Etymologie
Von notialis (= südlich), in Anbetracht der in der südlichen Hemisphäre, um Australien, liegenden Typuslokalität.
Verbreitung
Diese Art ist nur von Perth bis nördlich von Port Hedland, Westaustralien, bekannt. Wird aus 50-200 m Tiefe gefangen.
