Typusfundort: Original: Ping-tung [Toko], Taiwan. Neotypus: Meitsu, Nango, Miyazaki, Japan.
Etymologie
Benannt nach Pieter Bleeker.
Verbreitung
Argyrops bleekeri ist im westlichen Pazifik weit verbreitet: Süd-Korea, Süd-Japan (einschließlich Ryukyu-Inseln und Miyazaki, Kyushu-Insel), Taiwan, China, Vietnam, Golf von Thailand, Ost-Malaiische Halbinsel einschließlich Kalimantan (Malaysia), Singapur, Indonesien, Nord Australien (Golf von Carpentaria), nach Moreton Bay, Queensland, Australien. Australische Argyrops-Arten wurden lange als Argyrops spinifer identifiziert; das ist falsch und sie werden jetzt wieder als Argyrops bleekeri oder Argyrops notialis identifiziert.
