Typusfundort: Brackwasserquelle Kokosi am südlichen Ende des Strandes von Almiri, in Kato Almiri, etwa 4 km südlich von Loutra Elenis, 37°50'32"N, 23°00'58"E (Karte), Bezirk Korinthia, Peloponnes, Griechenland.
Etymologie
Benannt nach der Typuslokalität, Kato Almiri, Giechenland.
Verbreitung
Europa: Griechenland in zwei Quellen, in der Nähe von Almiri und Meligou (Peloponnes) und Italien: Palude del Capitano.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 9.02.2019: CR Critically Endangered (vom Aussterben bedroht)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Verlust des Lebensraums. Meligou, eine der beiden Quellen, aus denen die Art bekannt ist, wurde in ein Badegebiet umgewandelt.
Bei Almiri Spring, ehemals Brackwasser, wurde 2002 aus unbekannten Gründen beobachtet, dass es völlig marin ist.
