Typusfundort: Quellen des Büyük Menderes River, nähe Isikli (38°19'N, 29°50'E (Karte)) und Karakuyu (38°11'N, 29°55'E (Karte)), Dinar, Türkei.
Etymologie
Benannt nach dem Becken des Maendres (heute Büyük Menderes), Türkei (Quelle des Wortes „Mäander“, das sich auf den verschlungenen Pfad des Flusses bezieht), wo diese Art endemisch ist. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Türkei: Einzugsgebiet des Flusses BÜyÜk Menderes (Zufluss der Ägäis), Provinz Denizli.
