Etymologie
Vermutlich ein lokaler Bengali-Name, da es von Hamilton üblich war, triviale Namen "von einigen der von den Ureinwohnern Indiens verwendeten" abzuleiten. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Asien: Pakistan, Indien, Sri Lanka, Nepal und Bangladesch. Afghanistan.
