Typusfundort und -schicht: Souar-Fortuna-Formationen in Djebel el Kébar, Weiler Amamria in der Nähe des Dorfes Soug-Jedid (Gemeinde Sidi Bouzid), Tunesien; Mittleres Eozän (Mittleres Bartonium).
Etymologie
Vom lateinischen Wort crista (= Kamm), in Anbetracht des eigentümlichen labialen Endes der Zahnkrone, die viele Schmelzkämme trägt.
Verbreitung
Mittleres Eozän (Mittleres Bartonium): Tunesien.
